Who I Am
I'm Yvonne McNamara, a registered nurse with years of experience in both clinical nursing and aesthetic medicine. I founded Renew Skincare & Aesthetics Clinic to offer patients in Galway and the surrounding area access to safe, evidence-based aesthetic treatments delivered with genuine care and clinical expertise.
Renew Skincare & Aesthetics Clinic is an independent, nurse-led clinic based in Gort, Co. Galway — not to be confused with renewclinic.ie. Every treatment at Renew is carried out or directly supervised by me.
My Training & Qualifications
My foundation is in registered nursing, and I have undertaken extensive postgraduate training in aesthetic medicine. I hold qualifications in injectable treatments, skin health, and advanced aesthetic techniques, and I maintain ongoing professional development to ensure my practice reflects the latest evidence and safety standards.
I am a nurse prescriber, which means I can assess, prescribe, and administer prescription-only treatments safely and legally — an important distinction when choosing an aesthetic practitioner.
My Approach
I believe aesthetic medicine should enhance how you feel in your skin, not change who you are. My approach is always:
- Honest — I will tell you if a treatment is not right for you
- Individualised — no two patients are the same, and no two treatment plans should be either

I take particular care with patients who have sensitive skin, rosacea, menopausal skin concerns, or who are navigating aesthetic treatments for the first time. I also offer oncology-safe and pregnancy-safe options where appropriate.

About Yvonne
Yvonne McNamara is a Registered Nurse with a Diploma in Dermatology and working towards a nurse prescriber qualification.
She has worked across hospitals, general practice, skin cancer care, aesthetics, and healthcare education - a combination that shapes how she sees skin: clinically, holistically, and honestly.
That background matters. It means skin concerns are assessed in the context of your overall health - not just what's visible on the surface.
