Profhilo Before and After — What to Realistically Expect from Treatment in Galway
One of the most common questions I hear at Renew Skin & Aesthetics is: "What will my skin actually look like after Profhilo?" It's a fair question — and one that deserves an honest answer rather than a filtered before-and-after photo.
Before Profhilo: Who is it for?
Profhilo works best for patients who are noticing a gradual decline in skin quality — skin that feels less firm, looks duller, or has lost the hydration and bounce it once had. It is not a treatment for deep lines or volume loss. If you are looking to restore skin quality rather than change your facial structure, Profhilo is likely a good fit.
Common concerns that respond well to Profhilo include dull or dehydrated skin, fine lines caused by dryness, early skin laxity, menopausal skin changes, and crepey texture on the face or neck.
During Treatment: What Happens
At Renew, your Profhilo treatment begins with a consultation to confirm suitability. On the day, a topical anaesthetic is applied, and Profhilo is administered via small injections at five Bio Aesthetic Points (BAP) on each side of the face. The treatment takes approximately 30 minutes and is well tolerated by most patients.
You may notice small bumps at the injection sites immediately after — these are normal and settle within a few hours. Some mild redness is common for 24 hours.
After Profhilo: What the Results Look Like
This is where honest expectation-setting matters. Profhilo results are subtle and progressive — not dramatic or instant.
- Week 1-2 after first session: Skin may feel more hydrated. Some patients notice a subtle improvement in texture.
- Week 4 (second session): The second session builds on the first. Collagen and elastin stimulation is underway.
- Week 4–8 after second session: This is when most patients see the clearest results — firmer, more radiant skin with improved texture and a natural glow.
The result is not "I've had something done." It is "you look well." That is the goal.
How Long Do Profhilo Results Last?
Results typically last 6–9 months. A maintenance session every 6 months is recommended to sustain the effect.
